WELCOME TO THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS PAGE

HOME FAMILY CHRISTMAS 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS NUTCRACKER MESSAGE A GIFT FOR PoP

EACH DAY FOR THE NEXT 12 DAYS A NEW VERSE WILL BE ADDED TO THIS SONG-PAGE  (GET MOM OR DAD TO TEACH YOU THE TUNE IF YOU DON'T KNOW IT). THE FIRST DAY YOU SING ONE VERSE. THE NEXT DAY YOU SING VERSE TWO AND VERSE ONE. THE THIRD DAY, VERSE THREE, VERSE TWO, AND VERSE ONE, UNTIL FINALLY ON THE 12th DAY YOU ARE SINGING ALL TWELVE.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?   BECAUSE IN OUR CHRISTIAN CHURCH, CHRISTMAS SEASON LASTS 12 DAYS, AND THIS SONG WILL REMIND US OF SOME VERY IMPORTANT THINGS ABOUT WHAT WE BELIEVE.   IT WILL TAKE A LITTLE EFFORT ON YOUR PART AND PoP'S PART, BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT AND WILL BE FUN.

BY THE WAY, POP HAS GOTTEN A WORLD FAMOUS SINGER TO SING THE VERSES FOR EACH DAY. CLICK ON THE LITTLE TRIANGLE IN THE SQUARE TO THE LEFT TO GET IT STARTED.

'ON THE FIRST DAY OF CHRISTMAS, MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME, A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE. The partridge represents Jesus, our Savior, who reveals how much we are loved by God, the Father. Parent birds will often pretend to be injured to try and trick predators into chasing them so that the baby birds will be safe. Jesus really let himself be wounded for our sins so we could be safe.

'ON THE SECOND DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME, TWO TURTLE DOVES AND A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE. The two turtle doves represent the Old Testament and the New Testament, which together are the Bible and bear witness to God's revelation of Himself in history.

'ON THE THIRD DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME, THREE FRENCH HENS, TWO TURTLE DOVES AND A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE. The three French Hens represent the great virtues, which the apostle Paul describes as lasting forever, FAITH, HOPE, AND LOVE. (I Corinthians 13:13)

'ON THE FOURTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME, FOUR CALLING BIRDS, THREE FRENCH HENS, TWO TURTLE DOVES AND A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE. The four calling birds represent the four Gospels which proclaim the good news of God's plan to offer every person a way to be reconciled to Him through Jesus the Christ..( St. John 3: 16). Each Gospel relates the same basic story, and has its own unique purpose in being told the way it is. 'MATTHEW, MARK, LUKE, JOHN'

'ON THE FIFTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME, FIVE GOLD RINGS, FOUR CALLING BIRDS, THREE FRENCH HENS, TWO TURTLE DOVES AND A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE. The five Gold Rings represent the first five books of the Bible, (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy), which are also known as the Pentateuch and The Torah. They tell the story of God's perfect creation; of mankinds "fall"/sinful failure; and give the history of God's on-going work in history to put His plan of redemption into place.

'ON THE SIXTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME, SIX GEESE A-LAYING, FIVE GOLD RINGS, FOUR CALLING BIRDS, THREE FRENCH HENS, TWO TURTLE DOVES AND A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE. The six geese a-laying represent the six days of CREATION. We believe that God is the Creator and Sustainer of the earth.

'ON THE SEVENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME, SEVEN SWANS A-SWIMMING, SIX GEESE A-LAYING, FIVE GOLD RINGS, FOUR CALLING BIRDS, THREE FRENCH HENS, TWO TURTLE DOVES AND A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE. The seven swans a-swimming represent seven of the gifts of the Holy Spirit; including, but not limited to, prophecy, serving, teaching, encouraging, giving, leadership, mercy. (Romans 12 & I Corinthians 12)

'ON THE EIGHTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME, EIGHT MAIDS A-MILKING, SEVEN SWANS A-SWIMMING, SIX GEESE A-LAYING, FIVE GOLD RINGS, FOUR CALLING BIRDS, THREE FRENCH HENS, TWO TURTLE DOVES AND A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE. The eight maids a-milking represent the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount when Jesus said 'Blessed are the poor in spirit; those who mourn; the meek; those who hunger and thirst after righteousness; the merciful; the pure in heart; the peacemakers; and those who are persecuted for righteousness sake.'(Matthew 5)

'ON THE NINTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME, NINE LADIES DANCING, EIGHT MAIDS A-MILKING, SEVEN SWANS A-SWIMMING, SIX GEESE A-LAYING, FIVE GOLD RINGS, FOUR CALLING BIRDS, THREE FRENCH HENS, TWO TURTLE DOVES AND A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE. The nine ladies dancing remind us of the Fruit of the Spirit, which, as much as anything, demonstrate the impact of Christ on our living. Remember..? they are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22)

'ON THE TENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME, TEN LORDS A-LEAPING, NINE LADIES DANCING, EIGHT MAIDS A-MILKING, SEVEN SWANS A-SWIMMING, SIX GEESE A-LAYING, FIVE GOLD RINGS, FOUR CALLING BIRDS, THREE FRENCH HENS, TWO TURTLE DOVES AND A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE. The ten Lords a-leaping remind us of the TEN COMMANDMENTS, which Jehoveh gave to Israel on their way to the Promised Land. Read about Moses receiving them when God called him to Mt. Sinai. (Exodus 20)

'ON THE ELEVENTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME, ELEVEN PIPERS PIPING, TEN LORDS A-LEAPING, NINE LADIES DANCING, EIGHT MAIDS A-MILKING, SEVEN SWANS A-SWIMMING, SIX GEESE A-LAYING, FIVE GOLD RINGS, FOUR CALLING BIRDS, THREE FRENCH HENS, TWO TURTLE DOVES AND A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE. The eleven Pipers piping represent the 11 disciples who remained faithful. They were Simon Peter, Andrew, James, John, Phillip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James (son of Alphaeus), Simon the Zealot, Judas (son of James).

'ON THE TWELVTH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME, TWELVE DRUMMERS DRUMMING, ELEVEN PIPERS PIPING, TEN LORDS A-LEAPING, NINE LADIES DANCING, EIGHT MAIDS A-MILKING, SEVEN SWANS A-SWIMMING, SIX GEESE A-LAYING, FIVE GOLD RINGS, FOUR CALLING BIRDS, THREE FRENCH HENS, TWO TURTLE DOVES AND A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE. The twelve Drummers drumming represent the 12 points of doctrine in the historic statement of Christian faith called "The Apostle's Creed". This statement was adopted in the first centuries of the church and was needed to refute erroneous "beliefs", which were being promoted at the time. It contains the core, orthodox beliefs of the Christian church regarding what is true about God, the Father; Jesus, the Son; and the Holy Spirit.
