WELCOME TO THE WONDERFUL 'ART WORLD' OF WES HARDIN...

HOME BIRTHDAY PAGE LIFE LESSON WES HARDIN'S ART

THIS PAGE DISPLAYS SOME OF THE FASCINATING ART WORK OF PoP'S NEPHEW.   WES  OPERATES OUT OF DOTHAN, AL AND IS TRULY GIFTED. NOT ONLY DOES HE PAINT THE BEAUTIFUL MURALS SHOWN HERE, BUT ALSO DOES PORTRAITS, STILL-LIFE AND EXCELLENT PHOTOGRAPHY WORK.  HOPE YOU ENJOY!!!!

THIS MURAL OF A MAN AND HIS MULES IS A VERY RECENT PIECE....IN THE DAYS BEFORE MECHANIZATION, MULES PROVIDED THE POWER FOR FARMING.....RAISING AND SELLING MULES WAS A BIG BUSINESS AND IN THE BACKGROUND OF THIS PIECE IS A TYPICAL 'MULE BARN' WHERE MULES WERE BOUGHT AND SOLD.
OF PARTICULAR INTEREST IN THIS PAINTING IS THE FACT THAT WES'S GRANDFATHER, BOYD HARDIN, FARMED HIS SMALL, MISSISSIPPI COTTON ACREAGE USING TWO MULES, WHOSE NAMES WERE "NIG" AND "LOU", VERY SIMILAR TO THESE....HE SOLD THEM IN 1948 AND BOUGHT A FARMALL CUB TRACTOR....PAPAW SAID IT WAS A LOT BETTER RIDING ON THAT TRACTOR THAN WALKING BEHIND NIG AND LOU....LOL

THIS TRUCK IS OWNED BY THE RHETT BUTLER TRUCKING FIRM IN ALABAMA AND, I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND HOW THIS CAN BE ENVISIONED IN THE MIND AND THEN TRANSFERRED ONTO SUCH A "CANVAS".
HE HAS TO GET 'UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL' IN HIS WORK... HE HAS TOWED THIS OLD PORTABLE SCAFFOLD MANY MILES ACROSS THE SOUTHEASTERN USA AND NORTH INTO MICHIGAN....
STEAMBOATS ARE COMING...... A SALUTE TO THE   TUSKEEGEE AIRMEN   OF THE ARMY AIR CORPS IN WWII
HOW MANY OF THESE MUSICIANS CAN YOU NAME?

THE GIFT OF MUSIC IS A TREASURE
