PoP'S NUTCRACKER PROJECT |
CHRISTMAS 2014 |
WILL, ASHLEY, ABBY, OWEN, MAGGIE, DREW, ... |
I hope that even now, as Christmases return, that you all will put these in your rooms somewhere, but especially as the years have gone by and you now have a child, or children, of your own I hope you will display these at Christmas. |
And, just maybe, your little one(s) will ask: “Mama, Daddy, what is this and why do you put it out every Christmas?” Then I hope you will say something like this: |
“This is a Nutcracker soldier…standing strong and tall. I put it out to remind me that all through my years of growing up there were people who stood up for me and with me. They supported me and helped me to be, and do, my best. |
My mama and daddy, grandparents, uncles and aunts, friends and neighbors all prayed for me through the good and bad times….they pointed me in the right direction….taught me right from wrong.
|
And, because they did, I am here to do the same for you.” |
(With that you can give them a little hug or a pat on the head and say, “Now, off you go, ‘cause Santa can’t come until you go to bed!”) |
What you will actually be doing will be no small thing….you will be pouring some more of yourself into their lives….you will be teaching them about the wonderful gift of the Godly history and heritage that they have. You will also be giving them a Christmas memory of lasting value. |
